Firmware Update from TPM v1.2 to v2.0 (Case 2):

Step-by-step:
- Install all Windows Updates
- Backup your data (the TPM stores encryption keys, if they are deleted you may not be able to access your data anymore)
- Remove device encryption (if applicable)
[- Remove power on password (if applicable)]
- identify TPM version (v1.2 vs v 2.0) -> make sure to select the correct Firmware update for your current TPM version
- Update TPM Firmware using tool provided by laptop manufacturer (Important: read the manufacturers instructions carefully beforehand)
- flush TPM
- Encrpt device [and activate power on password] (if applicable)
